Our organisation is committed to preserving the environment through many diverse ways

Energy
  • We use individual reverse cycle air conditioner and heater units in our conference rooms and guest rooms making it more energy efficient.
  • While delegates are conferencing, all heating and cooling systems in public areas are controlled from reception allowing for better energy management.
  • All equipments are serviced regularly to ensure that they run at their maximum energy efficient rate.
  • All rooms are purposed built to ensure good flow of natural air circulation, providing good cross ventilation, reducing the need for cooling systems.
Water
  • Our water used for vineyard irrigation, frost control and gardens at Cleveland Winery is bore water.
  • We practice careful selection of plants when designing and maintaining our gardens, to survive in drier conditions.
  • We encourage guest to reuse towels.
  • At most venues we have dual flushing systems on all toilets, to reduce water wastage.
Waste
  • We recycle papers, newspapers, magazines, print cartridges, cardboard boxes and plastics.
  • Reduce food wastage by introducing a la carte breakfast rather then buffet style which sees lots of wastage. We also practice pre-ordering of evening meals to ensure accurate numbers are plated.
  • Leftovers are given to the animals at vineyard or used as compost for our gardens.

Informing and raising awareness

  • We constantly raise staff awareness on the environment.
  • We integrate the preservation of the environment in all jobs.

Green Taskforce

Our commitment to maintaining a healthy environment has resulted in the development of a Green Taskforce.

We understand the importance of promoting Australia as a sustainable business events destination. We already make efforts to be environmentally friendly, but we want to do more to protect our environment and reduce our carbon footprint. We will continuously identify areas where we can take environmental initiative and move towards being a group of Green Venues.
